The Vatican, which previously had softened their stance on certain recent blockbusters-approving the most recent Harry potter film and calling Angels and Demons "harmless entertainment", has blasted the Twilight sequal by calling it "deviant" and a "moral vacuum". The Roman Catholic Church criticised New Moon for its supernatural references.
"This theme of vampires in Twilight combines a mixture of excesses that, as ever is aimed at young people and gives a heavy esoteric element," complained the Vatican's culture council leader, Monsignor Franco Perazzolo.
He added, "This film is nothing more than a moral vacuum with a deviant message and as such should be of concern."

i am no fan of the twilight series...in fact i think it should die.
having said that; concerning what message it is sending is not such a big deal that the Vatican needs to be involved.
there "concern" and censure only fuels the obssession of teens.
i got sucked into the twilight world for some time..*the shame*!!..
but really.. the author's style is mediocre. The characters are irritating. All the references to Bella's beauty and charm send you spiraling back to nothing less than distaste. Edward is actually quite boring. He looks great, he's selfless, devoted, thoughtful, powerful, brilliant...so whats new? there is nothing unique.
It is actually a trashy romance novel for adolescent girls.
And the overwhelming popularity...it deserves a fraction of its fans.
As for the movie... well its worse than the book. Ugly actors who dont know how to act!
And since when did vampires become such wimps and started "sparkling" in the sun!!?? The vampire attraction comes from them being evil.. creatures of the dark.. the BURN in the sun.. they do no SPARKLE!!
Ah yes.. i believe i have changed religions as well.. i went from being someone who liked the twilight saga to a twilight hater. I like this side more..welcome me.
